tap water ban in place for part of aylmer

On Tuesday, after workers detected the smell of heavy oil in the water supply, more than 2,000 families in Aylmer were placed under tap water consultation.
Jean boleau, communications director at gatino city, said that water in the affected areas is now being tested to determine whether there is a health risk.

When the smell was detected, workers were carrying out planned maintenance of the city\'s water supply system, boilau said.
Flushing operation is in progress to clear the water system.

Gatineau is distributing bottled water at Paul Pelletier aquatic center in Chemin d\'aylmer, and also provides a shower there before 10. m. Tuesday.
